| There are several trails to the top of Pic Paradis, the tallest peak on our island at a bit less than 1400 feet. It doesn't seem like much, but you do start very close to sea level, especially if you rent a 21-speed mountain bike from Tri Sport on the lagoon in Simpson Bay. It's a short ride over to the trailhead and then you get to see both Marigot (the French capital) and Philipsburg (the Dutch capital) on your journey to the top of our world. Come down and have a great lunch in Grand Case or on Orient Beach. For a great hike up the mountain and back in time, book a tour via Loterie Farm, one of St Martin's earliest sugar cane plantations. It is built at the base of the rainforest because of the reliable water source. Today there is a restaurant and hospitality building at the base and a series of trails to the top. A guided tour is available. Send an email for more information. | |
