| There are several trails to the top of Pic Paradis, the tallest peak on our island at a bit less than 1400 feet. It doesn't seem like much, but you do start very close to sea level, especially if you rent a 21-speed mountain bike from Tri Sport on the lagoon in Simpson Bay. It's a short ride over to the trailhead and then you get to see both Marigot (the French capital) and Philipsburg (the Dutch capital) on your journey to the top of our world. Come down and have a great lunch in Grand Case or on Orient Beach. For a great hike up the mountain and back in time, book a tour via Loterie Farm, one of St Martin's earliest sugar cane plantations. It is built at the base of the rainforest because of the reliable water source. Today there is a restaurant and hospitality building at the base and a series of trails to the top. | There are even more trails on Saba, partially because there is only one road! The Saba Conservation Foundation has provided an excellent trail system and a map to guide you. We can arrange passage on Edge, a high speed cat, to take you over in the morning to begin a day of fascinating exploring as you head for the rainforest atop Mount Scenery, a bit over 2900 feet. You'll have plenty of great sights along the way: distant islands and nearby denizens of the forest. We have a great taxi and lunch package for your day-trip and can arrange a hotel to spend the evening. If you have a time share, avoid the Saturday rush and spend the weekend exploring Saba, The Unspoiled Queen. | ||
